Meet Boris

BorisHi, I’m Boris pictured on the left next to my younger brother Joseph.

Tammy and Dan are my servants and although they think they own The Crate Escape, I am really the CEO-Canine Executive Officer.

Although I’m in my golden ages now, I still enjoy being “King of the Yard” at The Crate Escape.  I take pride in teaching the new guys the ropes in the yards and also enjoy leaning on the side of any person I can find.  I love to incite the morning group howl and make it look like Joseph started it.  I’ve been known to act like a clown and am often found on the ground upside down rolling on my back.  This I like to do often during the day after I let out a precursor bark to let everyone know that I’m about to throw myself down from a standing position.  My mom tries to tell me not to do this anymore cuz Dr. Dan said it was the reason I was developing a hygroma on my elbow.  But I just can’t help it. Mom and Dad even made a sock for me to wear around my elbow for cushioning, but to tell you the truth, it’s quite embarrassing when they make me wear it.

In my younger days, I loved to take part in agility but sometimes got myself into hot water with Mom when I decided to exit the agility field and head over to the nearest spectator with a hot dog.  Oops- I just couldn’t resist!!  Anyways, some of you may have seen me swimming at Indian Brook, Oakledge, or at the dog beach at Lake Champlain.  I’m sure you haven’t forgotten seeing the crazy “Doberman Retriever” who does the long jump into the water whether or not the jump is actually needed to get in.  In the water is actually the only time I will fetch and return anything.  By the way, I thought you should know, despite how embarrassing it is for me, that I was trained to swim with a doggie life preserver of all things!!  So, yes, there is still hope for some of you fish out of the water tikes.

Joseph, my brother, is 7 and somehow he thinks he can’t live without me, but to tell you the truth, I don’t necessarily feel the same way.  Just do me a favor and don’t tell him that I said that.  Actually it is nice to have an adoring young brother at times even though it was great having just me and Ares the cat at home for the first 5 years of my life. After all, I did have plenty of friends at The Crate Escape and some of them even came home for sleepovers. But, Joseph just kind of grows on you and I can blame him for doing most things that I wasn’t supposed to do.  Isn’t that what younger siblings are for!!
